UEFA’s Aleksander Ceferin STANDS FIRM on Sanctions Against Russia and Belarus!.
Aleksander Ceferin maintains any UEFA credited clubs will still be excluded from their competitions, should another European Super League-style organisation emerge.
It’s almost two years since the breakaway tournament threatened to be realised on the proviso of exclusively pitting Europe’s most elite clubs against each other.
Widespread condemnation from fans, broadcasters and players themselves ultimately ensured the competition never got going, and Ceferin dismissed any future renditions as a ‘dead’ concept that happened a long time ago.
Ceferin also stood firm on the European governing body’s sanctions imposed on Russia and extended them to Belarus, suspending their participation and hosting of UEFA competitions whilst the war in Ukraine continues.
