‘They make the league BETTER’ – NFL Commissioner on black quarterbacks.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell held his annual Super Bowl news conference in Phoenix ahead of Sunday’s matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Super Bowl LVII will become the first time in history two black starting quarterbacks will face each other in the NFL’s showpiece event.
When asked why it took 57 years for this historic event to take place, Goodell admitted that ‘probably none of the reasons were good’.
He also praised the black quarterbacks in the league, saying that ‘they make the league better’.
Patrick Mahomes will lead the Kansas City Chiefs out against Jalen Hurts’ Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Super Bowl LVII.
