France fans celebrating their 2-1 FIFA World Cup quarter-final win over England were quick to laud talisman Olivier Giroud after his header set up a semi-final with Morocco.
Les Bleus took the lead through Aurelien Tchouameni in the first half, only to be pegged back by a penalty from England’s Harry Kane.
Giroud, who is the record goalscorer for his national team with 53 goals, rose to meet Antoine Griezmann’s cross with only ten minutes to go.
Many supporters thought England full-back Kyle Walker won his battle with superstar Kylian Mbappe, but are hopeful of beating Morocco to make it to the final next Sunday.
