Steve Smith TALKS about how CLOSE he is to the Australian batting RECORD.
Steve Smith described closing in on an Australian batting record as ‘pretty special’, but says milestones don’t motivate him.
Smith hit his 30th Test century on day two of the third Test against South Africa, overtaking Don Bradman for third on Australia’s all-time list.
He is now just two shy of Steve Waugh’s 32 Test tons, and 11 behind Ricky Ponting’s record.
Asked how long he thinks he’ll be in the international team for, the 33-year-old said he’s simply taking things one tour at a time and enjoying his cricket.
