Steve Borthwick EXPLAINS Smith’s England squad exclusion.
England coach, Steve Borthwick, has explained his reasoning for leaving Marcus Smith out of the squad ahead of their Six Nations match against France.
The former lock believes that the best thing for the fly-half is for him to ‘get some game time’, hence his decision to allow him to return to Harlequins.
Borthwick also praised the improvement of performances in his England team, but is fully aware that ‘they have a lot of work to do to rebuild’.
