LIVE: Fans ARRIVE at Lusail Stadium as AFC Asian Cup KICKS OFF in Qatar.
TJ Sports is live from Qatar on Friday, January 12, where football fans are arriving at the Lusail stadium as the hosts take on Lebanon in the first match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup.
The 18th edition of the quadrennial international football tournament involves 24 national teams, following an expansion in 2019, and takes place from January 12 until February 10.
Originally, China was chosen to host the tournament, but the country relinquished the role following the COVID-19 pandemic.
In October 2022, the AFC announced Qatar as the new host country, following its preparations for the FIFA World Cup.
